HIGHLIGHT: Smooth performance
The X series smartphones from Poco aim to offer powerful specifications at an affordable price. Last year, the company launched Poco X2, one of the more powerful smartphones in the sub-Rs 20K category.
This year, it has come up with its successor — Poco X3 — which starts at Rs 16,999. The X3 features a 6.67-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution. A coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the display from scratches and support from HDR10 enhances the user experience.
The smartphone display offers rich and vibrant colour reproduction, which makes binge watching enjoyable. Users are also allowed to customise the colour scheme for better viewing experience. We did not face any issue with the brightness of the display when we used the phone under direct sunlight.
The smartphone is powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor paired with 8GB of RAM. It offers 128GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB by adding a microSD card. The phone managed to offer a smooth and lag-free performance with the help of this 8nm processor. Poco X3 will impress you during long gaming sessions as you will never notice any glitch or lag even with graphic-intensive games like Asphalt 9. You can also easily switch between apps and edit all your photos on the smartphone without experiencing any kind of slowdown in performance.
Like other Poco smartphones, this one also comes with a layer of MIUI 12 based on Android 10. In terms of software, the phone has borrowed the best features from Xiaomi and improved them. The user interface is pretty clean and is easy to use. However, like the other Xiaomi smartphones, this one also comes with some useless pre-installed apps.
X3 sports a quad-rear camera setup, which comprises of 64MP main camera with f/1.89 aperture, 13MP 119° ultra-wide sensor with 1.12 m, f/2.2 aperture, 2MP depth and 2MP 4cm macro sensor with 1.75 m, f/2.4 aperture. Selfie lovers get a 20MP front shooter with f/2.2 aperture. The camera clicks detailed and vibrant images. The shots taken using the ultra-wide angle lens also offered dynamic range and a good amount of detailing.
The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery that lasted more than a day on a single charge of mixed usage. The 33W fast charger ensures the handset is charged up within 2 hours. The X3 is definitely a worthy successor to the X2. It is one of the most affordable smartphones to offer a 120Hz display. Poco X3 is a complete package under the budget of Rs 20,000.
