Wild monkey’s smartphone selfies create media buzz – NHK WORLD

Photographs and video selfies that appear to have been shot by a wild monkey using a smartphone are attracting attention on social media.

Media reports say the images were posted online by a 20-year-old Malaysian man.

The man says he noticed on Saturday that his smartphone was missing from his room. He found the device in his backyard, and discovered photos and videos of a monkey.

They show what appears to be a wild monkey facing the smartphone and taking selfies and videos by operating the touch screen.

People have posted comments on social media praising the quality of the selfies. One person remarked that all photos taken by animals are wonderful.

The owner of the smartphone told the Associated Press and other media that he was curious why the monkey took only the phone from his room. He said the photos and videos were hilarious.
